Blanca is currently assistant collaborator to the Intellectual Property Department. She started as a Bilingual Executive Secretary from July 1983 until June 2011, when she was in charge of the Trademark Department. Her tasks included the supervision of the Department's personnel, coordination of the trademark cases, as well as general advice to national and international clients, especially in the area of ??acquisitions, corporate mergers, assignments and changes of ownership, licenses, among others.
In addition, she studied at the Bachelor's degree in Translation (English and French) and was appointed Judicial Interpreter of the First Instance Court of the National District by the Executive Branch, through the Attorney General's Office in May 1986, and since then she has actively developed her profession as a translator, complementing her work to the Intellectual Property Department, as well as to other departments of the office in the areas of corporate law, banking, finance, among others.
In 2011 she decided to pursue her personal project as an independent professional and freelance translator, offering her services to various local law firms, banking and financial institutions, pharmaceutical laboratories, embassies, university students, as well as non-profit associations. In the years 2012-2014 she was hired by Paragon Languages ??Services, Los Angeles, CA, for an assigned translation and editing project in the Caribbean region.
Since 2010, she has been associate member of the American Translators Association (ATA), based on Alexandria, VA, attending annual conferences held in Denver, CO (2010), San Diego, CA (2012), San Antonio, Texas (2013), Chicago, IL (2014) and San Francisco, CA (2016). She has collaborated for the magazine "Intercambios" of the ATA‘s Spanish Division. She is also an active member of the Dominican Association of Judicial Interpreters (ADIJ), and is among the translators recommended by the British Embassy in Santo Domingo, D.R.
In July of 2015 she again joins the office in the Intellectual Property Department.
