Blanca Rosa Diaz

Blanca is currently Administrator of the Intellectual Property Department. She started as Bilingual Executive Secretary in the Trademarks Department of the Troncoso y Cáceres Office from July 1983 to June 2011, when she held the position of Head of the Trademarks Department. Her duties included the supervision of the Department’s personnel, coordination of the assignment of cases, as well as general advice to national and international clients, especially in the area of acquisitions, corporate mergers, transfers and changes of ownership, licenses, among others.

In addition, she completed a degree in Translation (English and French) and was appointed as Judicial Interpreter of the Court of First Instance of the National District, by appointment of the Executive Power, via the Attorney General’s Office, in May 1986, and has Since then, she has actively practiced her profession as a translator, complemented her assistance to the Intellectual Property Department, as well as to the other departments of the office in the areas of corporate law, banking, finance, among others.

In 2011 he decided to dedicate himself to his personal project as an independent professional, offering his services to various law firms, banking and financial institutions, pharmaceutical laboratories, embassies, university students, as well as non-profit foundations. In the years 2012-2014 she was hired by the Los Angeles, CA-based company Paragon Languages Services for an assigned translation and editing project in the Caribbean region.

Since 2010 he has been an associate member of the American Translators Association (ATA) based in Alexandria, VA, attending the annual conferences held in Denver, CO (2010), San Diego, CA (2012), San Antonio, Texas (2013 ), Chicago, IL (2014), San Francisco, CA (2016), Washington, DC (2017). He has collaborated for the magazine “Intercambios” of the Spanish Division of the ATA. Likewise, he is an active member of the Dominican Association of Judicial Interpreters (ADIJ), and is among the translators recommended by the British Embassy in Santo Domingo, RD.

In July 2015 he joined the office again in the Intellectual Property Department.
